Morountodun by Femi Osofisan

A play within a play. In 1960’s Nigeria, a wealthy young woman named Titubi is challenged by the government to infiltrate a peasant revolt. A folkloric heroine’s journey ensues. After discovering meaning in mythology, nation-building, and womanhood, Titubi returns empowered and reformed.
